Necropolis...
How do you think the h7 necropolis will look? What would you like to see?
About color
Are they gonna shove that eye-hurting green on our retinas again? In h6 every faction was too mono-colored, but Necropolis was just green and black, the black was ok, but the green was unsupportable. Yeah, their inspiration came from the "Parisian green" which is a potent poison, that's why green is associated with poison(spiders) and death. But that doesn't justify the exaggeration. Also the "undead" green was overly used in other games( i.e: Warhammer, Warcraft) and it makes it look unoriginal. I'd prefer to see more colors, like in H5, blood-red, white, black... they all fit more in an Undead faction than that fluorescent toxic green, even a darker and subtle shade of green. If the Necropolis is again shiny-green and black aberration I'm gonna hate this faction.
About Creatures
I hope they are gonna add more hideous and rotten creatures, it's a Undead town, damn it! They must look like they died and raised back again, not like some silly emo teenagers who are angry on life. Undead must be ugly, mutilated and rotten, the vampires weren't vampires at all in H5 and H6, they didn't even morph in bats, I'd like to see some Nosferatu-like vamps with bat features (i.e horseshoe-nose, bat ears) like in h3 or Dracula like in h2, I don't want freaking stupid twilight vampires in Heroes. Also only vampires should have light-vulnerability IMO, the rest of the undead, no. Please no more spider-lady in the line-up, some breeder-like elite spider without human features would be cool, it could lay egg-sacks which would spam swarms of little spiders, that would be cool. If they are gonna to add Lamasu again, I hope it'll be more Egyptian-like (Lamasu in Persian/Babylonian mythology were winged bulls with human heads, not lions) and they get them a skull instead of a nearly non-rotten face or a cool Egyptian mortuary mask, an Egyptian crown would suit them more than that ugly headdress they had in H6. As champion unit I would really like to see it's an Ankou from Breton mythology, it's a grim reaper combined with a death knight, we kill two birds with one stone. For the love of God, please make liches skeletal again, I couldn't stand the incompetent uncle-fester wannabe liches from H6, make them like in the older games, less crazy old-man, more Sorcerers of the dead. Overall I'd like more creativity, not the old typical skeleton-zombie-ghost-vampire-lich line-up. Make the mindless skeleton make a Reaper or Ankou, make the zombie into a moroi with cursing powers which can bring misfortune etc. Also Necropolis must be a HORROR faction, not f****ing emo town with twilight vampires and spider ladies. Necropolis needs gore, puss and bones!
About Heroes
He barely had a few truly undead heroes in H6, only emo girls and boys who hated their Haven parents ( MOM, it's not just a phase). I want to play megalomaniac skeletal and festering liches, like in h3 and h4, not twilight emo undeads like in h5 and h6 ( uh, such scary, many fear). In short, more liches, less bítches.
So, what are your opinions about necropolis?

i like necropolis.
seriously, though. i agree with you 100%. that's another reason i don't play the newer heroes games(besides the horrible 3d): the creatures look stupid as all hell. there are very few that i have liked. not enough to want to play the games, for sure.

Necropolis was my favorite faction in the entire Heroes series. I loved h2, h3 and h5 necropolis, h4 had necroferno... and h6 had "Emo cult let's cut", I hate it more than necroferno. Instead of publishing that abomination they could just have added Sylvan or Academy... H6 "necropolis" sucks donkey balls

As far as I can see I don't see color-based units anymore, at least haven is cured from that and academy doesn't seem to have it.
It would be horrifying to see that horrid purple and green back in homm7.

You ask for more creativity, but at the same time you shoot down the namtarus and lamasus, as well as the lore changes that make the vamps different from all those other fantasy games.
I like that the heroes were all vampires/liches. They chose the path of necromancy usually to conquer death, so what is the point in turning into a rotten zombie or skeleton. Those are the common grunts brought back from the death and enslaved by your necromancer.
As creatures I would like to see the namtarus make a comeback as champion alongside one of the classic champions, bone dragon, dead knight or reaper. The vampires I like as they are, only their armor could be a little less spiky and more sleek and regal. From skeletons and zombies/ghouls at least one is necessary as dead brought back to live. I liked the lamasus as they were a fresh wind in this quite stagnant fraction, but as we have enough options for other interesting units I don't mind them being replaced.

In the trailer we do see some sort of Necropolis spider creature which has the same green look as in H6?

Do we? I must've missed that. I was to much focused on how the Necromancer shown looks suspiciously like Anastasia from HVI.

Well watching it again, I see it was perhaps more of a hero steed than an actual creature (0:43 in the trailer) but the green certainly is very prevalent in the necropolis scene.

Looks a lot like the undead horse the Necromancers rode in HVI to me.
But you're right on the greenness.

I'd like necropolis and haven to step out of the heroes line up just once. Aside from that, I just hope vampires don't glitter like diamonds in the sun light and that they don't raise units in their own ranks after each battle.

Completely agree with this. I definitely like Vampire Knights more than those in H3 and H4.
Also agree about Lamasus and Namtarus, they were a breath of fresh air(how ironic ) and I wouldn't mind seeing them again, but what I really really want to see is Reapers(Wraiths) and Death Knights instead of Bone Dragons.
Will copy paste what I've posted in other thread.

They just took the Clash of heroes line-up for Academy and replaced one magic human with a gargoyle
And the Haven line-up looks like the same case, change one melee human for a wolf, there is even the big sword guy!!
Heh, yup. I would actually like for Necro lineup to go along those lines as well, but I would remove Bone Dragon because I am sick of those unoriginal units for Necropolis.
Death Knights, Wraiths/Wights, Namtarus, everything would be awesome.
What I would like to see for Necro:
Tier 1 - Skeleton, Zombie/Ghoul/Mummy, Ghost.
Tier 2 - Vampire, Lich, Lamasu/Wraith
Tier 3 - Death Knight, Namtaru
But maybe having Bone Dragon won't be that bad when we will have 2 Champion units, they could actually be interesting if they are done right with some great abilities(but they are never done right... ever).

Then why do they look like emo kids wannabe and not like lords and gallant knights? They don't look like someone who cheated death, they look like some little whiny goth kiddos, seriously, most necro heroes look like highschool studens. By the same logic Necropolis should be Haven 2.0... Also as skeletons they can bypass more biological functions than being emo vampires, normal human bones are as tough as cast iron and the average femur resists to 1 ton of pressure, neither the ligaments aren't weak, they don't need "the blood of the spider goddess" to survive and look 1000% more badass.
Do you want sparkling vampires too? I can deal with h6 "living" vampires as long as they morph into bats and aren't f***ing green anymore. Lamasus had that retarded face and headdress, as I said, a skull or a mortuary mask would have been much better. I hope Namatarus won't show again NEVER, only if they come as a full spider. They should have made the whole spider goddess nonsense with the Dungeon, Namatarus would fit better there, and leave Necromancers as arcane scientists, not an emo cult, they come from Academy afterall.

I always liked how Heroes 3 handled it's necropolis. It always looked really dark and the music did give it an atmosphere that was fitting of the undead. The green colourscheme that they tried in the newer games was nice but not as good as in the older games.
Personally I don't really mind the colour scheme though. Just as long as I can raise my skellingtons and I am happy.

I expect Death Knights to return, they are very iconic of Necropolis (H3 & 'H4') and H7 is trying to get close to H3/H5.
Reapers would be cool too.
Skeleton/Ghost/Vampire/Lich shouldn't go away...which would leav us with one champion unit (Bone Dragon?) and zombie/ghouls I guess.

Anastasia from H6 is sitting around the table with Ivan, as green and black as could be expected. Likewise in the trailer. Im hoping for a fun creature line-up with surprises and new ideas, but i fear they are gonna be green, black and spidery.
They could have some fun though, and play with the idea of Nethermancers. Sandros followers. If she tells that story I believe we could see a lot of fun stuff.

I think the direction they've taken with Necropolis is that it isn't considered an "evil faction" anymore. Apparently, people in Ashan seem to be perfectly happy with Necromancers raising the dead and such.
In Heroes 3, Undeath was considered an abolishment, and Undead evil and unnatural. They inspired fear in their enemies. In H5 and H6, they were just one of the happy bunch.
I suspect that they will be so, too, in this installment, rather than being the outsiders again that they were before. Which would be unfortunate, just as the black/green color scheme. Personally, I'd prefer a color scheme that varies from palewhite to black, with red (and perhaps yellow-brown) accents.
