I don't want dragons in all factions. If none of the six factions in Heroes VII have dragons as a champion unit then it would be interesting to see all of them (children of Asha) as bosses in the campaign.

Or at least if it really comes out that we don't have dragons as champions in fractions just add few of them as neutrals so that we have dragon utopia, because it's not always cool to rush in battles. Some of us fans also like to explore map and visit different buildings. Also in dragon utopias could be more exciting to gain those adventure abilities like one in demo to destroy magic shield, rather than just picking it in arcane library.

Quetzalcoatl isn't a creature that doesn't fit the universe at all. As I've already mentioned, abandoning its name is similar to showing disrespect for original culture for the sake of English-speaking people, IMO.

Fine

Here's my pick for new Sylvan creature: the M-ska-gwe-demoos,
a "moss-haired woman who cries alone in the woods and is potentially dangerous".
Perfect fit for Sylvan IMO.

You're exaggerating. I spoke of a unique and really interesting creature whose original name sounds bad when translated into English. Your example is an ordinary creature somewhat similar to a Ghost.
Specific units are quite rare in "Heroes". If a creature is really worth implementing and its name loses too much being translated I think it would be better to save the original one.

There's still the ever so slight possibility it's not gonna be in the game.
But as far as we know, Sylvan has yet to be created. Entirely.

Or, make them neutral only. I would buy that. No faction has a dragon unit, there are at least 6 dragon neutrals (recruitable!) and everyone is happy. I get my dragons, and all those "ugh, dragons, how boring" guys would finally s@ut up

PS: I'm joking, don't take the last part seriously ;P

I had the same feeling. While it isn't bad to have some variety, the settings were too strong in Heroes 6.

I'd love to see a ferocious tanky grizzly bear (not being ridden) in the sylvan line up. Give the faction some grit as opposed to being all fairys and unicorns. I'd also like to see something other than an emerald dragon as the champion creature, Xerox mentioned a Terratoise and I think that could be very cool, or a treant/earth elemental type monstrosity.

Concept: reduce enemy movement to maximise ranged damage

Core:
Wisp/Fairy - quick, flyer/teleporter, bad defense but has a chance to dodge, added elemental damage
Hunter - similar to HOMMV, full range strong archer
Grizzly - tank, maul attack reduces movement and inflicts dot

Elite:
Pegasus rider - flyer, magic resistance, high initiative, good movement
Unicorn Archer - already hinted at, shoot and move
Forest Priestess - ranged attack that is a call from nature, roots from the ground deal damage and reduce movement, can buff allies

Champion:
Treant - fairly traditional, high health, not massive damage but acts as a tank, enemy slowing type
Terratoise - more aggresive, seige stomp inflicts damage to walls and creatures in a 3x3 grid

Something like that, not perfect but a mix of old favourites and fresh more gritty creatures would be great

I like the idea of terratoise, and grizzly bear sounds fun (even if a bit unnecessary with Fortress having bears being given). On the other hand, unicorn archer is not needed. Even though it was mentioned in "meet Sylvan" (damn, am I the only one whom it reminds of TF2?), I am fairly sure it was just a quote from the Compendium, wich tells about faction's army in general. With that in mind, I think unicorn is better on its own. Pegasi rider, on the other hand, suits the role of shooter very good. All in all, your lineup is good, NACHOOOO.

i will disagree with the bear since bears(and bear riders) are a dwarves thiing. there would be confusion seeing a bear and the enemy army having a bear rider

Just call them druids

2 strong walkers as champions is something we won't see very often. Terratoise sounds cool

I'd like to see that lineup:

CORE:
Some heavy armored Elf: Metioned in the description, the main body of their army, plus I suppose Bladedancers will be Elven heroes, as the Druids and Rangers.

Hunter: The growth is lower than of elites of some other factions, full-ranged, powerful doubleshot compensates it.

Lynx Rider from the compendium, maybe with a bigger flanking bonus as the ability. Or perhaps make it a shooter, because if you choose treant, without the driad one would only have 1 shooter.

ELITE:
Shapeshifter: Upgrade has 3 half animal forms, which would be half tiger, half raven, and half bear, where bear is the tankier form, tiger the more offensive and raven the faster flyer.

Unicorn: fast offensive creature, like always.

Basilisk A giant Snake or dragon-like unit, with an ability that paralyzes living creatures.

CHAMPION:

Treant: A giant 3x3 unit, very high health.(Looks like the badass compendium treant.)

Driad: shooter/spellcaster, to replace the Druid. It's magic is powerful enough to bring units back to life.

With that lineup the core of the army is elven, supported by powerful creatures, and the dragon can still be a boss.

Shape shifting unit sounds fun, I'd definitely be into that but I think my preference would be to limit it to 2 options instead of 3. Just for the sake of balance, tank/offense would work great, when you mix in a flyer I think it starts to get difficult.

I know the dwarves have bear riders, but I'd like to see a grizzly bear without a rider for the elves, or something like the shapeshifter as mentioned by Kurush.

They could have the strength of a core unit. Like a three-in-one core unit.

I think the Lynx riders should be skirmishers, with only half the normal range, but the centaur ability(run and shoot in the same turn) and strong attack(heavy projectiles)

Wonder if the town screen is going to have the Big Tree concept yet again. Of course there will be no rotation in 2D but they can still stick to that theme.

11 days left till the poll closes, hopefully after that we get some units!
