That green leafy... fairy... thingy, whatever it is, would work well as a very first core unit, and would be non-humanoid enough to be unique.

Can you imagine how much Treants probably slow the elves down though? I mean, unless they're defending their forests, it must take them FOREVER to march an army anywhere, they probably put them on wheels and drag them with unicorns. I'd like to see that.
I'd also like to see them march through a desert, or arctic tundra. Elf army, so mobile, cant go anywhere xD

In my opinion there should not be more than 4 units in H7 which are the same in H5. Phoenix should also be out of the question seeing the arcane bird already there. Also, it would not really make sense to have a fiery bird in a woodland based lineup - better give it to the dwarves if need be.
I guesstimate that we shall see standard rangers, treants and potentially unicorns making a come back, with nymphs/naiads taking the empty spellcaster spot. There will undoubtedly be at least one more elven unit and one flyer which I thoroughly hope is a pegasus or a pegasus rider. They could even mix in some units from former fortress if situation needs be.
Also, please, no dragons. It's not time for them yet (they belong in H5 which has yet to happen).
P.s. Anyone remember the beta/vanilla treants from H5? -turbo mode on

While Dwarves are really into Fire... Phoenixes are birds, Dwarves either live underground, or fortresses at the frozen peaks of mountains, neither place is suitable for a phoenix. Although, they'd create quite the light show underground.
Wonder if Fortress could use some kind of Dire Bat unit? Might be more Strongholds taste though.
Valkyrie sounds like it will be one champion, already a flaming flier. And i've personally been demanding a Basilisk w/ Cannon on its back for the other champion.

Not happening, since almost the whole H5 Academy lineup is repeated in H7 (only Gremlins are gone), in H6 most of Stronghold was the same as H5. Only Inferno and Dungeon that had notable reinvention. In H7 I'm not sure if any factions are getting several new units, especially units that did not appear in either H5 or H6.

Fortress will... or WOULD HAVE if people werent so desperate for the same faction and same units.
Lore pretty much guaranteed new dwarf crossbowmen, sappers/engineers, siege weapon, and valkyrie.

Something like the HoMM 5 beta Treant would work well as a Champion-tier unit. The problem is that if Treant becomes a Champion, then what will be Elite? Sylvan doesn't have enough potential creatures, with Phoenix being neutral and Wolves in Haven.

Plus you have it all wrong. Orcs can crush any of those creature's heads with ease by the way. Except for maybe banshees because they can't hit them. Any male spellcaster can destroy a banshee with ease though.

I know this might sound crazy, considering the fan base... but what if they just used another Elf? I know, elves are pretty much only good at bows, nature, and shirtless swording. So why not add something different ? Elf with 2h sword ? I think they mentioned Horse Cavalry in the lore for Elves..
Clash of Heroes had the Sylvan using Bears, fits the nature theme, robs fortress a little bit but fortress may replace them anyways

Slow Treant?
Then maybe make it a ranged unit (for the first time ever). He could attack by burrowing his roots deeper, and entangling (thus immobilizing (his special ability)) the targeted unit.
Or he could sort of teleport, by transforming into roots, burrowing, and resurfacing near his target.
A little twist wouldn't hurt, no?

These are interesting ideas, but elves are too squishy to work as high-level units. Besides, IMO in HoMM 5 we had too many elves in the Sylvan lineup already, and Blade Dancers weren't a good design. I like the idea of having bears, but they should be an elite unit, I don't think they'd work well at the champion tier.

Please, no elf champion. I can agree for the swordbearer in Haven, but giving Sylvan, a faction that just screams for treant or something beast-like, an elf champion? That would be the stupidest unit idea Ubisoft ever had for Heroes.
