If it's legal, yes, obviously. People own their own lives, and can part with them if they want to. The only question is whether the state is going to punish me for it.

Quote: Well, anywhere there's a legal dilemma there's usually a moral or ethical one as well. Else the law would be changed.
The "moral dilemma" here comes from the Christian tradition, that says suicide is a deadly sin (and the victim will go to hell). Assisted suicide therefore is assisting a person to throw their soul outta the window or, more precisely, to hell.
That the respective law is still there, seems to have a couple more reasons that have nothing to do with moral, though (there may be a lot of "abuse", for example, people being "assisted" with suicide, who actually don't want to die.
So basically the moral dilemma is comparable to "you register a crush on a member of your own gender. Said member's eyes are on you and seem to say, I like you. Do you make a pass on the person"?

If she asked, and it was legal, yes. Or, rather, I would find someone who would do it proficiently.

If you mean, whether I'd stick a big cleaver into her, turn it a few times around and then pull it out, the answer is no.
If you mean, whether I'd give her an overdose of a drug she had to take to cling to an otherwise miserable, painful existence of lying half comatose in some bed, having to be cleaned and fed by someone like a baby, if she begged me in a halfway clear state of mind to make and end, finally - OF COURSE. What else could you do? Tell her, no, Mom, sorry, you'll lose your undying soul? Relax, there will be better days? You'll come over it? I'm too much of a coward?
I mean, I have had two cats in my life, and both died by lethal injection through the hands of a vet. And those cats didn't beg - it's just that the doc said it would be best, because even with dugs they would just needlessly suffer if they carried on.
I was very happy, I didn't have to do it myself - but I was also very happy because they didn't have to suffer anymore.
Seriously, imagine a time where everyone really did believe in God and Paradise and whatnot, but also most people led quite miserable lifes. If suicide had not been "outlawed" - what do you think, ow long it would have taken people in seemingly desperate situations to just "give up" and go to Paradise?
I mean, sure, if you are 20 and your mother is 45 or so, suicide might not be the correct decision from a statistical point of view. But I am way older than 20, and my mom is nearing 80. If that was her situation in ten years - what should she endure for? Better times? A miracle cure? For the off chance of one moment of unexpected happiness in the future? If she wanted to die, obviously this was the last wish I could grant her, and I'd gladly do it.
