I'm doing away with the current Academy, the Gremlins, Golems and Titans are going to the Factory (Construct town, based in snow) while the Mage, Djinn and Rakshasa are headed to the Conflux (Wizard town, based in desert). I'm not sure what I'm doing with the Gargoyles, but I'm leaning towards putting them in Estates (Vampire town, based in taiga). Academy isn't the only old town biting the dust either, Necropolis is going Egyptian, but losing the Vampire, Haven's headed east, Sylvan is splitting into Preserve (Forest) and Vale (Dark Forest), Inferno's getting the heating turned down, the H3 Dungeon is coming back sort of, as is H3 Fortress. Stronghold is the only traditional faction I've yet to decide what to do with.

No they don't. They worship Father Sky and Mother Earth, true. But they also reject the worship of Dragons and very clearly state that Mother Earth and Father Sky are not Dragons.

Gargoyles would fit in perfectly to a Gothic faction that is not necesserily undead driven.

Not everyone in my vampire lineup is undead, they're getting two tiers of (enslaved) humans, and three tiers of monsters (including the Black Dragon). Oh, and the architecture for these guys is definitely going to be gothic.

Actually, my Vampire town is going to be more like:
Core
Bloodslave > Minion
Bat Swarm > Bloodbat Swarm
Ghoul > Nosfer
Elite
Gargoyle > Obsidian Gargoyle
Blackguard > Shadowguard
Vampire > Vampire Knight
Champion
Black Dragon > Blood Dragon

How about Blood Slave -> Blood Thrall?
Also, you may wanna mix up their names a little?
Currently you have three creatures whose names start with 'blood'.
On-topic: I like dwarves. They're hard to muck up conceptually.

I would really like dwarves in H6. Even though they had 6/7 dwarf units in H5 it didn't bother me much. They have specific game play which I like and I would definitely want them in H6, although a little bit changed...

lol How did this even end up being a discussion of Vampires??
Anyway, I'm curious, which of these two units do you guys prefer:
- The Brawler
- The Spearwielder
- Both or neither.
Personally, I'd go with the Brawler, because I like the idea of a slightly drunk/mad Dwarf, he just throws himself into the fray to fight with his (almost) bare hands.

Brawlers, although as a low-tier (tier 1-2) unit, not a mid-tier one as it was the first time around.

Uschhh I hate both of them, but then again I hate all dwarfs that isn't mining slaves.
The spearweilder was good as a unit, either as a harpooner or a "whatever the other one was called".
The brawler however was just plain boring. There isn't another unit I hated as much in that game design-wise as the brawler, the only thing it was good was being used as a sacrifice unit to become vampires for the Necropolis.(actually they were awesome for that because of their high production.)
And the brawler is the reason why I hate the Jaguar Warrior so much, because I fear that that unit will end up similarly...

If I have to chose, I would go for Spearwielder. It's criple abilite was actuely useful sometimes.
But If I wouldsay Who I would like to see in a future line-up I would say neither. Brawler was just purly designed and had almost no use in combat. And I think Dwarves have better candidates for long-range unites. I would rather see a fire spiting salamander, or axe thrower.

Because it would by to much Disciples like?

Actually, I was thinking more about the theme/looks of the unit rather than the specific abilities. Abilities can be changed, good ones can be used on other units, bad ones can be replaced by others.

To be honest, I found the Spearwielder/Skirmisher/Harpooner unit quite original.
It's way less overdone than Dwarves with crossbows of blunderbusses.
I did however have some problems with the design of the spears themselves, as they looked terrible unweildy. Also they did not look at all designed to be thrown. But that realy is nitpicking.
The Brawler/Berserker/Battlerager was rather meh. Dwarf Berserkers is something that has been done and done better at that. This is the first Dwarf I would remove from the lineup.

Personally I hope to not see a race-based dwarf faction in H6. They already cut out a LOT of mythological creatures, and I don't think you can afford to make race-based lineups when there's still plenty of creatures to somehow incorperate into a faction.
In a way I still love the H1-4 approach of making dwarves and elves one single unit, the way you'd recognize it as a stereotype. I'd probably rather see that than an entire dwarf faction
