Every planet in Mass Effect 2 with a mass extinction story of all advanced life says that it was due to coordinated mass accelerator fire from orbit. No idea why the reapers had to land
Edit: gah can't play ME3 yet need to finish arrival.
Also wouldn't it be better to use the supernova from the destroyed relay to criple/kill the reaper fleet?

The ME lore also says that it took centuries for the Reapers to destroy the Prothean Empire and complete their harvesting.
I had an idea that to destroy the Reapers, you could like implode the sun or something when they were attacking Earth.

This is like the billionth time they try to exterminate life in the galaxy.
By now they SHOULD have become exceedingly efficient at it.

Or bored. Remember what Tali said about the geth, that dangerous repetetive tasks would not sate a 'sentient' race fot long. I
don't know about you but the reapers seem like your avarage power gamer, buffing themselves up by boring repetition for the final mission, this is it, isn't it?

Final mission? To me it seems like they came equipped for a vacation.
EDIT: Wow, they did a REALLY lazy job with the background models in the citadel, those things are ******* unmoving 2d cardboard cutouts
And also the civilians in the starting mission, they look like something ripped out of the first Duke Nukem game.

WARNING,RANT BELOW!
Thousands of ancient super intelligent semi-machines with the knowledge of millions of years(possibly the knowledge of an entire civilization) and adept at destroying the galaxy of sapient life- land on earth, recieve direct fire, have one weapon, make terrible decisions (Human reaper in ME2,Sovereign fails in ME),fail to shoot at the normandy (ME3 trailer),fail to aim at a giant worm (ME3 trailer),dont have any other purpose(What the hell do they do other than pointless killing) and most importantly they deal with "Primitive life".
Super intelligent beings dont have to be incomprehensible.Thats where ME authors went wrong.
Imagine if we humans were like ants and reapers as humans. Those ants would only see our shoes and not even understand the extent of our society.
Its hard to view a superinteligent being but would its actions be incomprehensible? I personally dont think so.
They went with incomprehensible in order to hide their idiotic text writing.
If i was a reaper I would not even care about humans or what not.
I would finish some unfinished businesses on earth and then
achieve my desires.

Well, there was a subplot about Dark Matter collapsing the universe and the Reapers wanting to figure out a way to stop this in ME2.
But I suppose the law of "HERP DERP" cut that one out completely.

I never saw that subplot in ME2.U sure its ME2?
Anyway, stopping cosmic expansion is rather stupid. Firstly,we dont even know if this "Acceleration" of space is going to continue and even if it did, stopping it seems to look like a task that even Science fiction cant solve.

Interesting idea.Imagine doing that to every planet the reapers have invaded.
It would defenitely be a better ending than those i have seen.

You have to remember that the intelligence of the Reapers is barely above that of indoctrinated Geth.

Where did you get that?
Judging them by their actions, their intelligence is that of a moron.

I just found out that the mass effect 3's box cover is two sided, one with fem shepard, and one with male. (I flipped it over since fem shepard looks far better ) Valid for Xbox version.
Mass effect 3 insight:
I enjoy ME3's 'rushed' pace, I can no longer spend as much time as I want 'looting', and it's much more dire in ME3 seeing how I almost missed alot of mods and creds (I'm certain I've missed some already, no way to know for certain yet ) Same goes for space exploration
I love the fact that the citadel feels more 'alive', but I find the tone of the dialogues a little 'off'. Might be just me, but it'll take some time getting used to.
Minor Spoiler
I dislike the idea of my entire crew being disbanded, again, When I recruited my team I was expecting them to 'stick by me' even though the mission was over, so much for 'bonding'.
Downsides
The ape.

Yea, ok, i'm not even going to bother with the character import as literally 95% of the stuff DOESN'T get imported, I HATE the fact that I've had to play the gawfully boring starting missions 4 times now only to get that Wrex didn't show up on ANY of them.

what? Wrex shows up A LOT if he survives and if he doesn't, Urdnot Wreav replaces him and has different scenes
Grunt is also replaced if he died or if you didn't open his tank
Something interesting happens to Jack if you don't save Grissom Academy in time
I like "Eve", the female krogan a lot

Wrex is in everyone's game! He is currently hiding undercover as the human councilor Udina! A cunning disguise, of course, but Wrex slipped out when he left Shepard in Udina's office and said "Shepard." as he left!

Just finished. Well damn.
I loved pretty much everything until the endings showed up and urinated on my face gleefully whistling the Marseillaise, a sensation I haven't experienced since finishing Fahrenheit.
I sort of expected the trololo theme to spring up somewhere during the credits. Featuring the Illusive Man.
