Just sieving through comments on the endings, hell of a way to burn time. Some have reasonable arguements, others boil down to not having the mental capacity to comprehend what just happened. . I'm not sure whether I should be glad or sad that the rest of the gaming world is composed of little more than apes.
I'm 50/50 on the matter of the ending, since almost 90% of players wouldn't be able to understand the story (they still don't) if they'd have gone with the original plot (imo). It would've been the matrix all over again, where I'm the only one who can enjoy the movie without going 'the ****?' at the end.

Bioware has announced they will sell the closure for the series.
And at this point, no one should be surprised.

Quote: However, many gamers took issue with the Mass Effect 3 ending, ripping it for failing to reflect the amount of individual choices they had made in more than 100 hours of play.
'Ripping' is an understatement, it was more like 'fans first struck it with a sterility plague, and then stuck a nuke between its legs incase it gets 'upitty' again.'
In my opinion, ME3's ending should either be: Sheppy dying in a blaze of adrenaline induced 'glory', or perish on a volcanic planet with the remnants of his crew, in both cases with a quaint smile on his face, like he knows that it couldn't have ended any other way. (the closest resemblence I can find to this 'feeling' manifesting, is the H6 trailer)

I find it inconceivable that bioware is trying to aspire to a multiplayer fanbase.
Anyhow not without a serious outside influence.

You are not alone and you have surprised me because I have a similar opinion.
I actually enjoyed the ending because it had a subliminal message to me.
The only problem I have is that they kinda "Simplified" the ending.Harbinger should have been at the end.
In another sense, the original plan for the whole purpose of the reapers was better because it had a greater purpose.
However,it is understandable. One should only go the bioware forums and read the about the sheer stupidity of the folks that play that game. Not even 10% of them understand what an "Ending" is and what the writer wanted to tell the player in the end.
I am able to infer,be it incorrectly, why most games today are dumb, because of the consumer it is being sold to.
The ending of the game had choices and they did effect the game. The real problem is that children expected shep to live through all of that and have smile and reassuring the player that everything is OK.
Any end, that is not an american western cowboy walking to the sunset,is too much for them.
I am sorry if somebody got insulted. There are inconsistencies with the ending because of the two past games, however those can easily be rectified if the writer bothered to fix those, fill in the holes in the plot.

Shepard can live through the ending.
But what bothered me the most was the similarity. Three different coloured explosions, lol? Plus the plotholes, normandy there, with your guys on board, what?

The only bad part about the ending for me was the fact that MRs were destroyed. It felt sort of anti-climatic, even though that was to be expected. However, I can say that even though ME series were awesome, BioWare fared much better with KotOR 1 (and its ending possibilities were much more awesome).

Bioware has vowed that there will be NO new ending. Their position is "We are artists. We will not change the endings just because 91% of the fans didn't like our endings." What they will offer is an extended view of the endings that most fans don't like as a free downloadable in a few months. They won't give fans what they want, but will give them more of what they have said they don't like. A questionable response to the outcry.

An official press release went out today announcing how we are re-prioritizing the Mass Effect 3 post release content schedule to provide a more fleshed out experience for our fans. For many of you the "Extended Cut" will help answer some questions and give closure to this chapter of the Mass Effect story. Oh and it's at no cost to you - the fan.
Here is a mini FAQ to help you understand what the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is and isn't:
What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to the conclusion of Commander Shepard's journey.
Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.
When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?
Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.
Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard's story.
So there you have it. Are we proud of the game we made and the team that made it? Hell yes. Are we going to change the ending of the game? No. Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding.
There will also be a free multiplayer DLC on the tenth of this month.

Too bad the ending was not the team's artistic vision but rather Casey Hudson's, after all, it was he who axed what the writers originally wanted so he could bring us this turd.
