You seem to fail to follow your own logic. YOU related imagination to God, not inspired writing.

Did I, artu? I said God was not imaginary.

I also said that I feel sorry for people with no imagination whatsoever, nevermind what type of imagination.

I did relate writing with imagination. I believe God chose people with great imagination to write.

So those two statements were just randomly lined up together as a coincidence... Nice.

I've discovered that arguing about religion is far better than arguing about sports or politics. Here I've actually met people smarter than me and with whom I can get along reasonably

There are two options: Drakon could refer to atheists (which would mean that God IS imaginary) or to himself and other Christians (as if God was for people who have no imagination).

Ouch.

Yes, and you have that huuuge pile of evidence backing you up.

Edit: Also, my original ancestors were trees and their names were Ask and Embla. Adam and Eve never existed as according to the bible.

God is not imaginary is my opinion. Same as "God is imaginary" is yours.

Hobbit dude, who says I have to refer to Christians and atheists, seriously? I've met people with very little imagination in my short time on Earth, you know. You don't have to be atheist or Christian to have imagination and vice versa.

If you write a single sentence as "God is not imaginary, but I feel sorry for people with no imagination." and then when your flawed logic is shown, instead of honestly admitting it, claim things like it was just about people in general etc etc, you will only be humiliating yourself.

Btw, I re-checked Elodin's quote, there's no such distinction in not being subject to laws but being subject to stories of the OT in there. It simply says:

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

And even if the distinction was there, that wouldn't get you off the hook because it is not the laws in OT that makes your God a wrathful, horrid character, it is the stories.

What flawed logic man? I didn't say "I feel sorry for atheists who have no imagination", I said "people". Get that? People. So you're just guessing.

Also, think about why God chose Israel, it's like selecting you out of all people to be His child. It's great.

Also, since God created everything, He can do whatever He wants with us. And probably the people who died bu the flood would have commited more and more sins until they would've died eventually. This way they have less.

That's really wonderful. Since you'll have to arrive at the conclusion that God is good (nature of your dogma), when you pray for your loved one in the hospital, if she dies, God is good because she took her next to himself and saved her of future sins. If loved one survives, God is good because he saved her. If she stays in a coma for ten years, God is still good because we can never understand his true intentions. What a lucky fella, I'd be a spoiled wrathful tyrant too if I had believers like this.

As a matter a fact, I saw two family members dying in the hospital three years ago. And my belief helped me greatly to accept it and try to move on at the age of 15.

I didn't think that they died because it was God's will, I just asked myself "why". But in the NT it does say that bad things can and will happen to good people. In the new world there will be no more suffering, no more tears, no more death. That's all I need to know.

I'd be a liar if I said I don't miss them every day. But what can I do... it will happen with my parents too eventually. I'll have to deal with it.

We know very little about all there is in the universe, nevermind God, and if you believe the Bible, we're just creatures, there are things far higher than us. that's why I said God can do what He wants with us, he is in that position.

Yes, we're guessing. Because in that case your sentence was completely unnecessary in a religion thread. It's like saying "Football isn't dumb, but I feel sorry for people who play dumb games" in a sport thread. Do you really expect us to ignore this second part of sentence?

Well,it's not precise to say religion thread.
The title is "Questions about religion".

And half of the thread is "statements about religion".
The majority of the supposed questions are just statements "god does not exist",followed by other statements as "proof".

As if theists aren't aware of the questions and hear them for the first time.

And one of mine questions in return is:"What do atheists expect from the discussion?"
