HourGlass!!   Yuck!! Someone needs to make an Hourglass 2 or something, its almost as bad as some of these players posting on here that are STILL playing Heroes 3...

I hope that if and when there is a ceasars final that the map played for that tourny will not be Hourglass... other wise I will quit trying to get to emperor...even tho prolly never make it anyways   AND if its not... some players will have a hard time.. since they have NO clue how to play anything BUT Hourglass..

Hehe My point was that the nerf would be needed in a map like heritage of Deleb but not in a large one or one with powerful neutrals.

For instance how to take down lots of archangels unless you have insane spellpower? They'll rez a few times and your time will run out eventually. However sylvan with arcane archers and a few buffs/luck will be able to take them down.

If I am to use the mod I'd rather have a version with the other 4.

Well I think the whole point of making these changes is for that eact reason.. you shouldnt be taking Tons of ArchAngels week 3 with only Stalkers...  The MOD is designed to make the game over all more realistic and balanced.. So sure you will need to alter you play style...  I think the changes are all great ideas! Will make player actually "play" and fight in game instead of being spoon fed during creeping process etc.

Just had a battle vs. Sylvan and the infamous ARCANE Archers! To start the battle.. they Erased from existance 41 Thunder Thanes.  That really wasnt terribly suprising tho... but still kinda silly... but that wasnt the most amazing part! Fast forward later in battle.  I have his stack of arcanes down to a measly 27 arcanes.... and I am thinking to my self... they are low enough now that they shouldnt be that big of threat...  HA HA!  Wrong!  27 Arcanes ERASED 7 Magma Dragons!!!

Now before the Flame artists start claiming ... here Jinxer complaining about another one of his losses yadda yadda... I won the game. ALOT of Good morale boosts for me and Bad Morale Boosts for poor Mell....

Just wanted to share an appropriate story to support even more obviously that Arcanes removing force arrow for TOH MOD is a great idea for the list of 5... and deserves to be on the MOD list.  It has my support.

You won the game Jinxer, so it's support very well the idea - the mod is not needed ! With this mod on, i think, now is mission impossible for Sylvan to beat Dwarfs with imba runes or blood raged Orcs ...

hahaha... I only wish people would actually READ all the words in the posts....

I won ONLY because of some SERIOUS LUCK and Amazing roll of the dice! His 26 Prism Dragons got bad morale there 1st 3 turns!  Mell had prolly 10 Bad morales on different troops during battle.  AND I had prolly 10 GOOD morale Shines and just the PERFECT times.. was amazing...  So if you Zero out the morale, and take all bad and good morales outta game.... I die completely round 2 with Mell having very little losses.  Taking away Force arrow is actually only a minor fix for Sylvans over silly Stregth... there double rez ability with pristine unicorns makes it unreal.. especially when the High Druids turn 20 spell power into 49 Spell Power!   And then double rezing 2 stacks at a time! The list goes on and on.

1. Hourglass is the only balanced toh map.
2. Changes don't affect so much dungeon, but the ballista factions. Now, lets imagine that orcs and necro fight in heritage of deleb. What can orcs do when facing a 15 spellpower pheonix in 1st week without triple flaming ballista? Dunno really for whom is this mod intended. Realism hahaha, i have big news... H 5 its A GAME. :

Hahaha, and if you put all army on the battlefield you'll probably lose like 90% of it. Nice post Jinxer.

Good name for mod - "TOH MOD v1.0"... But it's tested by any person ? Maybe better to name it TOH MOD 0.5 alpha, or beta ?

Quit spamming, pal. Jinxer is right as well as those many posters before him to claim imba of arcane archers. It's just not natural for lvl3 unit in relatively low numbers do damage that surpasses pack of emerald's hit several times. Anyway, this subject was discussed and widely agreed upon. Phoenix existed already in 1.0 and, though extremely powerful and kind of imba, was dealt with. There certainly are many more options how to counter it.

There are MANY balanced and beautiful maps out there. Think outside the "glass".

H5 is a game and MOD's objective is to make it more versatile and equal game I suggest we playtest the MOD for some time and see if it's commensurate with our expectations.

If you check the posts you'll see that my post was the first to say about archers and i dont know where did you see me complaining about them being nerfed. I said that this mod wont be balanced in might vs magic in small maps, pal.

5. Force arrow ability removed from Arcane archers

Lol, seems there's no point in using arcane archers anymore ?
And maybe fortress need a change as well, remove magma shield, defence reduced by 10, and hp reduced to 260 . This force arrow thing was made to deal with the hopeless magmas btw.. if you have fought fortress with sylvan, would have know how hopeless it is in end games !

Btw... 27 arcane took down 7 magmas .. hmmm hmm ...

fav. enemy, elven luck, etc, i'm not that impressed.

Besides, they're the best unit they have.
Personally i see centaurs under Haggash much more versatile than arcane archers.

Long time ago i have a game against Insatiable on his map "Just another map". My Sylvan with ultimate, he dwarf ... I kill 18 of 19 Magma Dragons... In a couple of turns all Magma Dragons back online (resurrection, runes) I lost big time, even ultimate not help ...

Any battle that you cannot take without losing 90% of it... you have no business being in. And if its a battle that you would otherwise lose 90% of your army... you honestly think its balanced and realistic to beable to take that same fight with only hand ful of level 1's???
