that was the worst ideia i ever heard about!
Of course it will solvethe piracy:
nobody will buy it so nobody can copy the game!
man, this is ridiculous!
i thinking how i would play, since my internet connection
really sucks... do they think that peoplt living in small cities with bad internet dont play games?
how about the poeple in central america?
in the dark africa?
in Amazonia-im here?
in Tibet?
in Antartida?
do they dont think about these people?

Was it Command & Conquer or any similar game some years ago which had this great feature, all your soldiers turned into pigs on the map after a specific amount of time if game was started without cd / with crack exe?

I thought this was a joke but having Kalah write about on CH means it must be real
Must be same sort of "bright spark" that thought up of crappy components for stuff so the appliance/equipment breaks down just after warranty period ...or maybe they get ideas from MS who might even head down this path
Yes it's annoying on Ubi forums that there's people asking about online keys all the time ...but shheessh that's a bumdass overreaction by some foos that don't even buy & play games themselves...
Well I won't be buying or playing any of those sort of games

PhoenixReborn, if I am not mistaken you are asking why people who have an internet connection would be complaining about having to have an internet connection to play a game.
What you seem to be failing to see is that..internet connections can be interrupted. Storms, router problems, not enough money to pay for the connection (assuming it is a temporary problem), and a HOST of other issues. The problem is not having the connection, but the fact that you MUST be connected to play even a single player game. Sure I can see having to be connected to play a multiplayer game, even if it is only a LAN. If an interruption in the internet connection happens for multiplayer..well there is not much that can be done.
However, to be forced to have a connection to play a single player game is absolutely insane. If a storm takes out your internet, you should be able to still play your game in single player mode.

This is not at all a new idea. I think there was even a thread at HC about MS wanting to do something similar. Companies have been talking about it for a long time, but as far as I know none of them have done it.
Oracle was the first one I can remember talking about it, and that was probably at least 15 years ago.
This sounds a lot like a site license that are used at a lot of companies.
Anyway, I don't like it, but I wasn't planning on buying anything from Ubi anyway. I was already pissed at them and I have lots and lots of other unplayed games.
I think sooner or later this online thing is going to happen. All it takes is one company to do it successfully and then all the other companies will follow. People will complain and say they won't buy the game. But when the game is released there will be enough people buying it that the company won't be hurt.

It's a sad world where you have to get a crack not to go insane, even if you have paid for the game 
Unless someone doesn't care for Big Brother Ubi watching over your single player game with their stupid validation. Just one more turn, I'm nearly done... whoops, connection severed... wait, I can't play anymore? Are you ****ing kidding me?

Just think. Once people get used to this idea, the next step will be charging you a monthly fee for it.
Fortunately I have enough games that I don't think I'll ever run out of games to play for the rest of my life....as long as I have a comp that'll run them. Maybe I should stock up on spare parts for my old machines. Anyone know where I can get some 512K memory sticks and a 5-1/4 floppy drive?

So if Ubi won't care one bit, and will make quite a bit of money, even if we tell them to **** of with this stupid scheme, we're just suposed to sit and wait for it to happen?! So let's at least try and do something, even if they don't care!
