"Hahahaha! You don't know what I will be payed and you already threaten to cut it. Hahahaha! You will see me back at the high tide tonight."
Still laughing, Eduardo walked back to his horse and untied it. He mounted the horse, pressured it's flanks with his booth and rode off in a gallop. Several fishermen had to jump out of the way to avoid being barreled over.
A lengthy ride later Eduardo arrived at the plantation where his sister and her husband grew tobacco and sugarcane.
When he rode into the courtyard Eduardo saw his nephew Manuel running towards him. Eduardo dismounted on the run and tossed his nephew the reins.
"Give Black Thunder some water, Manny. He has another ride ahead of him."
Manny nodded and lead the horse to the stable.
Eduardo himself walked into the kitchen of the house, finding his sister Eva there preparing that night's dinner. Eduardo picked a piece of fruit of the chopping board before his sister could stop him.
"Don't bother cooking for me tonight, Eva. I'm leaving on the tide tonight."
"You found yourself a job then?" she asked.
"And one that does not pay bad either. You don't mind taking care of my horse while I'm away, do you?" Eduardo took a bite from the fruit.
Eva smiled. "I'm sure that Manny will love to do it for me."
"That's what I thought. I'd hate to miss the baptism of my new nephew or niece, but you also know that I hate living off you and Robert for long periods of time."
"You're always welcome here, you know that. And I don't want to have to find a new godfather for Manny and the newborn." Eva said firmly.
"I'll see what I can do. I'm going to pack my trunk now."
Somewhat later Eduardo was busy loading most of his weapons, armor and clothing into a large trunk.
"So, you're leaving." Robert said while walking into the guestroom Eduardo had staying in the past weeks.
"Adventure calls, not that I'd think a farmer like you would understand." Eduardo said jokingly.
Robert sighed. Eduardo and Robert got allong well enough. They were roughly the same age, but they had very different personalities.
"Here hold this for me, will you." Eduardo held a pistol over his shoulder. Robert took it slightly puzzled.
"Why do I need to hold this?"
"So you can protect my little sister while I'm away."
Robert sighed. "You be carefull now, Ed. I expect you to help me on the land here one day. I need some extra eyes to keep check on the help."
"Yeah, the day I have a pegleg and a hook. And I would still outride you on a ploughorse." Eduardo regarded the horseman's pick he had left here his previous journey and decided to stick it in the trunk anyway. Any weapon might come in handy. "But I leave on the high tide, so I don't have time for a preach, compadre." But Robert had already left.
When Eduardo entered the stable with the trunk on his shoulder, he saw that Eva and Manny were waiting for him.
"Are you leaving uncle?" Manny asked.
"I am, little buddy. And I need you to take care of my horse while I'm away." Eduardo said and Manuel nodded solemny. "And I want you to ride with me in a moment and guide Black Thunder back here once I get to my ship."
Eduardo hugged his sister and mounted his horse. "Take care sis."
A moment later Eduardo and Manny rode towards Port Auflin.

Geralt inhaled the smoke one last time, than approached the Captain.
- Captain, I'm the new doctor, Geralt. There is one thing I have to ask you. I wish that no one disturbs my studies, except in cases of extreme emergencies. Also, if anyone tries to remove my mask, there will be serious consequences.

The captain nodded and replied, "Very well, I shall post a bulletin on the main message board. If it doesn't trouble you too much, could I take a look at what you study every now and then? If you would prefer not to, then I'll respect your privacy."

Avron nodded, picking up Kalthak by the legs, grimacing slightly. Whent they had carried him up, he set him down, and said, "About my pay. I don't demand as much as some other proffesionals, but don't let that decieve your opinion of my skills. I would like 20 silver a week, plus another 15 for every encounter that we have that I actively take part in. Deal?"

Simon and Lianna pushed the last of the cannons onto the ship. Immediately, Simon falls on his face, feigning absolute exhaustion. "Thank you oh gods of the sea for not making that madman buy any more one hundred and sixty pound guns. His toys are hard enough to transport without there being piles of them."
He lightly pushes himself off of the deck, flipping in the air once before landing gently on the tips of his feet. "Now," He asks Lianna, "Where am I sleeping? Top or bottom..." Seeing the look on he face, he quickly added, "Hammock, that is. Mind out of the gutter! Also, before I retire, I have something for you and a few other crew members..."

Reaching into his back pocket, Simon pulled out a small crystal flower, it looked fragile enough to shatter if you looked at it too hard. "The Duroks and elves on the Durokan islands are incredible craftsmen, and they made this trinket with the ability to rebuild itself if ever it is to break. You will also be getting another gift by the end of the week, if you can forgive me that is." He held out the flower to her. "Please, take it. It was worth a small ransom, and I'd hate for it to go to waste."

Simon tucks the small flower into her hair and hugs her back. He whispers into her ear, "Thank you, Lianna. I know that I don't deserve it, but your forgiveness is the best gift you could give to me. Thank you."
Giving her a small kiss on the forehead, Simon breaks off the hug, he holds her by the hand. "See you in our quarters, I have some other deliveries to make tonight."
Simon lets go of her hand, and sets off to find Davian and Kalthak.

"With the rest of the crew I expect." replied Davaian. "Ask for Quartermaster Hervin and tell him that you are a new sharpshooter. He'll put you in with the other sharpshooters I'm sure."
As Avron went away looking for Hervin, Simon came around to Davaian and Kalthak.
"Simon! How're you fitting back into the ship?" said Davaian as he got someone to get Kalthak into his quarters.

"Oh, rather well, my friend, rather well." Simon sighs contentedly. "I've gotten Lianna to forgive me, at the least. She rather liked what I had found for her in one of the Durok bazaars I visited, and I think you will like your gift as well." He pulls out what seems to be a small, well adorned brace of daggers and a well read book. The book's title is "Adventures of Sesile, The Bard."

Davaian looked exited as he took the blades, but did not pay much attention to the book. "Wow! You really know me don't you? You knew that I've always wanted a set of perfectly balanced daggers! Oh, and thanks for the book too."
