I once checked the game by my buddy, nothing really happened there. He just had to search something and talk to people in different places and occasionally slash some monsters. It seemed very poor of any events.

Well everyone has their own opinions, I've stated mine. It is BIG though, it's hard to get an overall opinion from just playing it a little while.
I kinda played it as a marathon, couldn't stop. I was Geralt.
@Blizzardboy: Been a while since I played, but I remember that I completely loved the Wolf potion! As soon as I saw a group of enemies I just smiled, drank the potion and went group style. Complete massacre.
I hope the second game will reach consoles... I don't feel like buying a new computer...

No, to form my opinion I also used stereotypes which I had created by seeing similar games before.

Forming an opinion on stereotypes, you just blew me away. Seeing as I am slowly reaching the conclusion of the first witcher I'm looking forward to a new one. I'll probably replay it with a magic build in the meantime

You have the Enhanced Edition right Elvin? There are two smaller adventures you can go on.
I was a heavy intelligence/stamina/aard/igni build for the main campaign, now I'm trying out strength/intelligence with a lot in Yrden and then overall more talents in my styles.
Also, unless I'm missing something, Quen is a piece of junk. If I ever need to drink a potion in combat I just run away to give me 2 seconds.

Heh I have invested in every single combat mode along with strength, dexterity and stamina In intelligence I have maxed my bronze points in aard/igni but no silver skills. That is the kind of gameplay that suits me in most games, melee with a few tricks up my sleeve. Group style at lvl 4 is a joy to watch and dishes lovely damage all around.
I suppose in better levels signs get aoe?
And yes enhanced version.

Well you don't have a choice but to almost fill up your bronze talent skills. With level 4 Igni you blast everything in a 315 degree radius with a pretty good distance too.
And yeah, I believe the Group Style is the most important of the 3 styles. You have to do a lot of mass killing.

I understand that people find caps annoying when overused, like, entire posts. Moderate amounts is the key.
Anyway...
All this Witcher talk made me reinstall The Witcher 
I'm not downloading the Enhanced Edition Upgrade though... simply too big.
I have to run at the lowest settings (I still play in 1024 x 768 though), and even then it still lags pretty much... sigh.
I don't get it, I can play Oblivion with 5 times higher settings without significant lag... meh.
Still awesome though. I'm planning on maxing Igni and Aard as fast as possible, my last character didn't even use signs

Damn.. I finished the witcher and it was indeed amazing. To think that early on I was wondering how Alvin will grow up, guess I got my answer. You'd think he would have said something but I suppose it's better letting you reach your own conclusions. And the ending explains the witcher's 2 title, one of the other schools perhaps? Or a renegade?
I kinda expected a harder finale but I liked how things progressed until that point. And it gives you a nice reality check, no happy ending. Doomforge said that the resurrection was a plot device and it just might be but I have a feeling there will be more to it later.

I've always felt an interesting and in-depth villain is vital to a good story or game. If you have a cliche, one-dimensional bad guy it will spoil it.
There is more than one school of Witchers, so I'm guessing the 2nd one will largely involve a feud between Witcher guilds.

Well, in the trailer of The Witcher 2 Geralt fights an Assassin who uses the same dual sword style as the guy in the outro. He also uses Zerrikanian Bombs, so he can obviously use alchemy.
He also says "you know what makes us different?"
So... yeah. He's probably a Witcher too. This'll be awesome for sure

Guys, quick question. The Enhanced Edition patch is 1.4 and I have 1.2, do I have to get 1.3 before the enhanced edition?
EDIT: I'm considering skipping signs again and go for bombs instead, much cooler imo. Throw Samum (stuns everyone) and charge up Group style special, MASSACRE!

No idea. Btw I played through the price of neutrality and DAMMIT it got me. That was a truly hard case, both in terms of fairness and that of consequences. Decided that Kaer Morhen could no longer provide Deirdre shelter, not just because of political repercussions but everything seemed to point that she was a violent, sadistic scum. Couldn't tell which side was lying about Roben, maybe I missed something.
Either way all three endings were interesting. What did you get?

I dont want to spoil the fun but i actually agree with TD. Letīs see how many hs of interesting gameplay this new game gives...compare with Homm and *piackapoo* there u go... another "eye candy" game.
