I'm with AMD Phenom II Quad Core, 3.4 Ghz, 1 GB GeForce 9800 GT and 4 GB RAM and all works excellent on High settings. Frankly I thought that I'll need to play it on medium - judging from the trailers - but the game runs absolutely smoothly and looks excellent. Except that Geralt is uglier than before and looks... um... fatter.
Other than that - it will take some time to get accustomed to the new combat system and some console features which I don't really applaud but otherwise the thing looks really promising. And you get to see what Triss has to offer in the very beginning.

That's a very powerful PC. I'm merely at Core duo, 3 GB ram and an old, cranky Radeon 2900xt 512 mb.

Sure.
AMD Phenom II X2 560
4 GB RAM
HD4850 512 MB (probably the main thing that's keeping me back)
I'm a bit sad about not being able to import my old saves... Adda is apparently dead by default... she'd probably be alive if I had imported.
Also, is there any way to overwrite saves in this game? I have a ton of autosaves and normal save games. I can of course delete them from the folder but that's kinda annoying...
EDIT: I'm gonna order an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T and a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5, should send my computer's performance through the roof

I hated this about first game. Guess they didn't fix it.
Your PC looks a lot stronger then mine, so I guess I will have to pray for lag-free low details.

Nah man, after I've tweaked the settings a bit I've reached a quite awesome level of detail... looks like High settings to me.
The predefined Low, Medium etc settings suck. SSAO on medium? Jeeez...! Great performance drain without any real visual awesomeness.
You should probably be alright, this RED Engine seems very well optimized.
I get the same obsession with perfection as I got with Dark Messiah's combat while playing this btw... I just have to nail that bomb throw into the enemies' faces just perfectly, and then finish them off with Strong Style in two seconds You feel like a mutha****ing assassin in this one!
I really recommend playing on Hard from the start. You learn to be effective really quickly.

Man I LOVE using the Axii sign in conversation! You feel like a goddamn Jedi
"These are not the prostitutes you're looking for" *Axii gesture*
Ok I made that up. I still feel like some kinda Jedi though, or an anime ninja with all the Sign gestures heh...

It feels awkward at first, but once you realize that you simply can't face off against two enemies in melee at once, you start to adapt...
Throw an Aard at that guy, slash the other, oh you're grouped up? Eat a Samum b****. Or you prepare a trap, Yrdens... snare traps... etc...
It feels quite similar to my experience with Mount & Blade, knowing your weapons range and recovery time is essential or you'll eat steel.
I suspect that the combat will feel very different once I have the ability to slash multiple opponents at once though. Probably a lot easier, maybe more enjoyable... maybe not... I kinda like how I have to constantly reposition to not get overwhelmed, but I guess when the challenge and number of opponents increase it'll balance out.
Bombs are insanely fun, can't wait 'til I got the shrapnel bomb, KAPOW b****es!!
My Preorder DLC code doesn't work btw... maybe they haven't really launched them yet... it's just an armor anyway, but I can't access that extra quest they talked about either.
I just deleted my 99% of my save folder. Had 68 autosaves after a few hours of gaming... about 200 MB. W...T...F... were they thinking with this system?

Heh, if you were real powa you would've gone for Raven's Armor of the Elves instead... more spellpower
Getting my ass handed to my by Scoia'tel... man I'm glad it's challenging.

It's only 10% whereas order armor is -30% damage taken instead of -20% along with a big health boost = seems better Not that anything can hurt you but, you know. Powergaming is all about choosing redundant boosts assuming they are the strongest possible pick.
Besides I hate elves

Well Yaevinn was kind of a prick, but I enjoyed our philosophical conversations. Especially the one about him getting his door smeared with poop, that was touching. Couldn't really sympathize with the Scoia'tel but compared to the Order... yeah I'm going with the pointy ears and short people.
Why am I not playing right now? Huh.

Order and Scoia'tael both have their faults, however Scoia'tael are definitively worse because their only way of fighting humans is killing (civilians mostly) as much as they can without any point. Order on the other hand isn't created solely for murdering non-humans, it actually does useful things like killing monsters.

So for those who have the game, have you found any safe places to stash stuff? I tend to be a pack rat.
STEAM did not have a preload option. My download is at 62% so I doubt I'll be playing before tomorrow.

I tried setting everything to max in The Witcher 2 last night. Very beautiful, a bit laggy, but I'm not so far from achieving it as I think.
So I ordered a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1GB, and a better monitor
Been a while since I gave my computer any treats, this game is definitely worth it.
@Elodin: Woohoo, moar Witcher buddies
No, I haven't found anyone. I tried the innkeeper since they could store stuff in the first game but no luck.
You can carry a lot though... the new inventory system is way superior to the old one. Much more manageble.
EDIT: Can anyone access DLC? My pre-order code isn't working, the free Troll DLC isn't showing up, and The Witcher website doesn't allow anyone to log in...
Fail launch is fail?
