I'd really love a campaign focused in the matriarchy, i'm tired of Raelag. Great job compiling everything

Since the win of Dungeon is a foregone conclusion, I can only hope that the line up vote won't summon the same intensity of hate and bigotry as the previous one. But we'll see.
I personally don't like the idea of putting the Hydra in the champion spot in Dungeon. Sure I agree the Hydra would be an awesome unit to have as champion, but in my eyes te Hydra should stay an elite as long as it's n the Dungeon faction. First, Black Dragons will remain as champions. Thats definitive. And the other spot should go to the Faceless as the direct rivals of the Angels. The only reason why the Faceless was an elite instead of champion in H6 was not to upset conservative H3 nostalgists by not making the Black Dragon the champion of the Dungeon faction.
Dungeon has many awesome units to chose from to fill the elite and core tiers. Hydras, Minotaurs, Manticores, Lizardriders, Beholders, and now Jackson suggested the Chimera which would be another great addition. But since I expect at least 2 elvish units, prossibly 3, I fear the high potential of the faction might diminish just for the sake of meeting the elf-quota.

This doesn't make much sense, every champion is supposed to be a damage dealer, they are champions for a reason.
Faceless would probably have spells, sure, but most of the time he will do his strike and return ability, and maybe will cast 1-2 spells per combat.
Hydra is closer to Treant, very tanky, slow/average speed champion that favors positioning a lot. Black Dragon is very offensive with his spell immunity, breath attack and fast movement speed, that being said he also needs quite a few hits to be taken down.

I hope if (when) Dungeon wins we'll get an actual name for the Faceless.

I was thinking more along the lines of having the Faceless as a champion spellcaster (as others have suggested before), which would be a significant contrast with the Black Dragon. I see the Black Dragon and the Hydra more as tanky damage dealers. Yes, the Hydra is more tanky than the Black Dragon, but as you said yourself both need 'quite a few hits to be taken down'. Both have their differences, the Black Dragon is a flyer and the Hydra hits multiple units. Having the Faceless as champions would be a larger contrast, which I think is needed considering the popularity of the Black Dragon. This was my reasoning behind it.

As much as I like Chimeras, I don't want them to replace Manticores for "just because" reasons. Manticores already have an established place in both Ashan and the Heroes series in general. They also have flying and stinging mechanics that are a lot more distinct than a generic charging cavalry unit. Why replace something both familiar and distinct with what amounts to "awkward cavalry"?
Manticores also tend to feel less... hodgepodge than Chimeras. On the one hand, we have "horned lion with bat wings and a scorpion tail," and the other is "traditionally, a lion with a goat head sticking out of its back and a snake for its tail." I don't know about anyone else, but "bats and scorpions" are a lot more intimidating than "OMG, a goat's head!" Oh, and if you're going to counter "but we can make it a combination of any animals we want", then you're not making an actual Chimera... it's just a made-up "in name only" animal mix. You might as well call a Manticore a Chimera with that sort of logic.
That's not even getting into my issue with Dungeon having cavalry in the first place. I'm sorry, but whenever I think of an underground civilization having mounted combatants as part of their regular army, all I can picture is a dark elf being comically clipped off his mount by a low-hanging stalactite. Underground riders is a silly notion.

I agree with Kronos here, and I think a champion spellcaster equipped with some really nasty spells like Confusion and Frenzy and maybe even Puppet Master (all of which would really fit the theme of the Faceless as I imagine them) could provide a really nasty challenge.

beholder/evil eye/lurker is non-humanoid and its naturally magical. in h4-h6, we seen them casting automatic spells or spell-effects on targets.
my suggestion:
make it with one big eye surrounded by smaller/lesser eyes. put a certain number like "7", "9"... to give a meaning(an important number for dungeon lore? seven stars of darkness or something like that with a core big eye representing malassa itself.)
add a big open brain surrounding its organs like in h3(big brain=more wizardry), make no mouth-nose-ear (to make it feel more magical and mysterious.) and finally enlarge it to fit large creature type.
it would feel like a creature from depths of the unknown darkness. a pure darkness creature like shadow dragon.
faceless is an original and important creature but i think they can fit spellcasting elit type better than shadow witch, which is just elf priest with devotion to malassa. h6 facceless was good imho.

This is what I call a Beholder:
Linky: Behold!
The H6 one had a central orb that was too small with respect to the tentacles and the extra eyes. In my opinion, the stalks should be fairly thick and fleshy and perhaps be somewhat less flexible than those of the H6 version.

imho, good desing overall, but central eye reflects some emotions(anger?), it feels kinda humanoid with that eyebrow muscles.
about eyes... maybe they should be carefully designed to reflect darkness? maybe like gazing upon darkness, bottomless depths?
and maybe all eyes irises(dont know what to call it in english?) should turn different directions in animation?
fleshy stalks and less flexiblity sounds good but im not sure of thickness. it may have some sort of weakness in close combat.. you know, if you can survive shoots and magics, you may really have a tiny chance to kill it

You're absolutely right. We - as community - have nothing better to do than write thing to piss you off. Personally, I feel extremely inferior to you and I'd do anything to please you and gain your approval .
C'mon, man. Don't be so self-obsessed. There's dozens of people on this forum, each of them have different ideas and preferences, more over most of them don't remember you . Chill...
I can't wait to see Limbic/Ubisoft's proposals. I hope to find facehugger in on of the lineups . Limited number of elves also would be awesome, 2 is enough. It's not Warhammer, it's Heroes game for Ancients sake !
