There are no words to describe this... how can a person no matter how twisted or evil simply mow down completely innocent children. 85 children... murdered. Eightyfive. I just can not even fanthom that number yet... It just make me so sad... My thoughts go out the families.
If the man were to suffer for all eternity it wouldn't be long enough...

I watched the news where a surviving girl was interviewed who said the man was undisturbed and walked slowly/calmly as he shot at the kids.

Were they kids? In TV they looked like teenagers.
I think that he had some sort of partner for the attacks on the island.

1st: there were 700people on the island, ranging from children to teenagers if I'm not mistaken.
2nd: The car bombing happened 1-2 hours before the shooting, police and officials believe he was opperating on his own.

My grandmother actually phoned me up today and asked if I had heard about this. Its just so awful. The man is an obvious psychopath. A psychopath with a mission.
How could anyone just gun down innocent kids while they swim. And then calmly hand himself over the police.
They are reporting that the longest sentence he can get in Norway is 25 years. I really hope that isn't true.

I guess he considered them "traitors" to "his country" because it was a Youth Camp of the currently governing Social-Democrat party. (omit the "o" in "country" and you get a bit closer to reality here)
So people simply consider "traitors" worse than the people they actually despise.

Idk what that trigger-happy lunatic would have wanted to gain, but that is the only potential explanation I can think of. It matters little though, because it is still an unbelievably despicable atrocity to commit.

Because to his ideology, they're the true threat. The Muslims and other immigrants are just the symptom. By gunning down a ton of politically enthusiastic kids at the camp, he's wiped out a small piece of the future that would perpetuate those views. Completely ****ed up though it may be, it makes sense as far as his own little world is concerned. This guy is a visionary, as opposed to the more typical run-of-the-mill hater that might pick a fight with an immigrant on the street. It's obvious he was planning this for quite some time in advance

What I don't understand is how can a single man shoot nearly 100 people. Alone. Armed with a rifle, assault rifle and a pistol. I don't know the details but they weren't herded somewhere, they should have been moving all the time and not standing as static targets and so on. How many people did the explosives kill? Anyway, I doubt that this one is working alone. If he's not alone, then the madman theory may collapse.

Because it is an island, and the students tried swimming away and some made it, but most were forced to turn back toward the island, on account of the freezing water so they had no choice but to swim back into the sights of the gunmen. What a terrible feeling that must've induced....

Z, they are on an island with nowhere to run and unarmed, he's shooting... In that situation the only proper way of action is to rush him and hope he kills the other 7 guys, but we are talking about scared kids and not about russian/chinese army hence 91 dead... Walking around picking them one by one, I would ship his ass to Texas and be done with it
